About Calcitonin
Calcitoninis a 32-amino acid linear polypeptide hormone produced primarily by the parafollicular cells (known as C-cells) of the thyroid gland. Its primary function is to regulate calcium levels in our bodies and is predominantly involved in the production of bone. It counteracts the effects of parathyroid hormone (PTH). Why Optimize Calcitonin Levels with Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
We use calcitonin widely for bone and cartilage preservation as well as effective pain relief in combination with other hormones. We find calcitonin to be a very valuable adjunct in treating several other conditions as well.
